See what your photos reveal. Clear it before you share.

Every photo carries hidden details: where it was taken, when, on which phone, sometimes even an AI label. MetaClearX shows you all of it and removes what you choose.

Try it: this is how a photo looks inside MetaClearX.

What a photo can say about you

You can't see metadata when you look at a photo, but apps and people you share it with can read it. MetaClearX groups it into plain categories and marks how sensitive each one is.

Location (High risk)
GPS coordinates of where the photo or video was taken. Often precise enough to point to your home.
Serial numbers and IDs (High risk)
Numbers that can uniquely identify your phone, your lens or the file itself.
Person and face tags (High risk)
Names of the people in the photo and where their faces are, written by some gallery apps.
Hidden preview (High risk)
A small copy stored inside the file. It can still show the part you cropped out.
Date and time (Medium risk)
When the photo was taken and last edited, down to the second.
Device (Medium risk)
The make and model of your phone or camera and the lens that was used.
AI and content credentials (Medium risk)
Labels that describe how an image was made, for example with an AI tool.
Author and editing history (Medium risk)
Your name, copyright notes and the apps used to edit the file.
Camera settings (Low risk)
Flash, ISO, shutter speed and similar technical values.

From risky to clean in four steps

No account, no setup. Open the app and start with the files you want to share.

  1. Add photos or videos

Pick one file or up to three at once. Pro removes the limit.

  2. See what's inside

Each file shows its metadata by category, with risky items marked.

  3. Choose what to remove

Sensitive categories are selected for you. Change anything you like.

  4. Clear and share

A clean copy is saved to your library. Share it straight from the app.

Private by design

A privacy app should not need your data. MetaClearX was built around that idea.

Stays on your phone

Files are read and cleaned on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, so there's nothing to leak.

Your original is safe

MetaClearX never changes or deletes the original. The cleaned file is saved as a new copy.

No quality loss

Only the hidden data is removed. Photos aren't recompressed and videos aren't re-encoded.

Free to use. Pro if you need more.

Your most important privacy protections are free. Pro adds more control and removes ads.

Questions people ask

Metadata is information stored inside a photo or video file next to the image itself. It can include the location, date and time, the phone model, unique identifiers, names of people and labels added by editing or AI tools.

No. Your photos and videos are read and cleaned entirely on your phone. They are never uploaded to our servers or anyone else's.

Yes. MetaClearX removes AI labels stored as metadata, such as content credentials (C2PA) and digital source fields. Some AI tools also hide an invisible watermark in the pixels. That is not metadata, and MetaClearX does not change it.

No. MetaClearX only removes the hidden data blocks. Photos are not recompressed and videos are not re-encoded, so the image stays exactly the same.

Nothing. The original stays untouched in your library. The cleaned version is saved as a separate copy.

Yes. You can view all metadata and remove location, device details, identifiers, person tags and AI labels for free. A short ad plays before each clean. MetaClearX Pro is a one-time purchase that removes ads and adds extras such as removing date and time and cleaning more files at once.

MetaClearX is coming to iPhone with iOS 15 or later and to Android phones with Android 11 or later. The iPhone version comes first.

Orientation and color profile are kept on purpose. Without them your photo would appear rotated or with wrong colors. They don't contain personal information.

Clear before you share
